The Scholars of the First Pilot Edition of the Iga Świątek Foundation Scholarship Programme Announced

The recruitment and selection process for the first, pilot edition of the Iga Świątek Foundation Scholarship Programme has been completed. As one of the Foundation’s key initiatives, the programme is designed to provide long-term support to talented athletes at the outset of their professional careers. The programme has now entered its implementation phase.

The pilot edition attracted significant interest, with the Foundation receiving over 200 applications from female and male athletes representing a wide range of Olympic disciplines. The candidates demonstrated not only a high level of sporting performance, but also maturity, determination, and clearly defined development goals – key criteria in the evaluation process.

All applications were subject to a thorough review by the Selection Committee, composed of Iga Świątek, Tomasz Świątek, Daria Abramowicz, Daria Sulgostowska, Alina Sikora, and Maciej Ryszczuk. Applications were assessed in accordance with the criteria set out in the programme regulations. The overall standard was exceptionally high and well balanced, which made the selection of scholarship recipients particularly challenging.

As a result of the recruitment process, the first scholars of the Iga Świątek Foundation Scholarship Programme were selected athletes representing disciplines such as swimming, speed skating, tennis, and athletics. Starting in January 2026, they will receive comprehensive financial and expert support for a period of 12 months as part of the programme.

Meet the Iga Świątek Foundation Scholars 2025

We are proud to introduce the scholars of the first edition of the Iga Świątek Foundation Scholarship Programme. Their stories are the best proof that Polish sport has a bright future. These are athletes who combine talent and hard work with a clearly defined vision for their development.
We believe that the support they will receive through the Programme will enable them to take the next step on their sporting journey.

Ignacy Andrzejczak

A 19-year-old track and field athlete specialising in hurdling. He currently trains with UKS Vis Skierniewice and, from January 2026, will represent AZS Łódź.
Ignacy is the 2025 Polish U20 Champion in the 110 m hurdles with a time of 13.89 seconds, as well as the Polish Indoor Champion in the 60 m hurdles, where he recorded a time of 7.82 seconds.
He began his athletic journey in 2017, competing in youth track and field events. As he puts it: “Every medal I win means more to me than just a symbol of success—it is proof that consistency, perseverance, and trust in the process truly matter.”

Wiktor Chmurski

A 16-year-old swimmer specialising in butterfly, backstroke, and freestyle, as well as competing in freestyle and medley relays. He is a member of the Polish Junior National Team and trains with UKS GIM 92 Ursynów.
Wiktor has already achieved impressive results, including a gold medal at the 2025 Polish Junior Summer Championships – the National Youth Olympic Games – in the 16-year-old category in the 100 m butterfly. He also won gold medals in the men’s 4×100 m and 4×200 m freestyle relays, as well as the 4×100 m medley relay.
His family motto is: “In sport, as in life, it is not always the one who has the most who wins, but the one who never gives up.”

Liwia Kubin

A 21-year-old speed skater who has been dedicated to her discipline for 14 consecutive years. She represents Klub Sportowy Sekcja Narciarska Polskiego Towarzystwa Tatrzańskiego 1907 Zakopane (KS SN PTT 1907 Zakopane).
Liwia specialises in middle- and long-distance events. She is a 26-time medallist at the Polish Junior Championships and a seven-time medallist at the Polish Senior Championships. Her goal is Olympic qualification, and her dream is to win a gold medal in the 3,000 metres. She fully understands that difficult moments are an inherent part of an athlete’s journey, yet believes that they can become the starting point for the greatest victories.

Jan Pyla

A 16-year-old golfer training at Kraków Valley Golf & Country Club. He is a member of the Polish National Team and represents Poland at major tournaments across Europe. In the 2025 season, he became the Polish Junior U18 Vice-Champion, confirming his position among the country’s top young golfers.
Jan has had exceptionally successful seasons. In 2024, he won the Polish U15 Junior Championship, claiming victory at the Audi Junior Tour Masters—earning him a place in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR)—as well as representing Poland at the European Young Masters and the European Boys’ Team Championship Division 2.
Jan dreams of competing in NCAA Division I golf in the United States and, in the future, becoming Poland’s leading professional golfer. The past season has shown him that both goals are well within reach.

Oliwia Sybicka

A 16-year-old tennis player representing Miejski Klub Tenisowy Stalowa Wola. She has been training in tennis since the age of four. From an early age, she embraced competition and regularly participated in Tenis10 tournaments.

Oliwia has already amassed an impressive list of achievements, including 15 medals at the Polish Championships—12 gold, two silver, and one bronze. Since the age of 11, she has been a core member of the national team, representing Poland at both Team and Individual European Championships. From the age of 12, she has consistently held the top position in the Polish Tennis Association (PZT) rankings in every age category, currently leading the U16 ranking.
Oliwia emphasises that she wants to prove—to herself and to others—that one does not need to come from a wealthy background to reach the top in sport.
